Motor started running hot and started to blow dust when first starting up. Checked into motor housing and found bushes or bushing have burnt or dark spots as if they got hot.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. When a company says that the motor getting hot and consistently tripping the thermocouple is "normal" then I believe they're covering for a poorly engineered product. Any vacuum should never trip a thermocouple unless there is some kind of abuse or misuse of the product. Truthfully, I've never see a vacuum that necessitated the utilization of a thermocouple. Go back to the drawing board people. I will look for a more adequate product.

A perfect vacuum for cleaning ashes from our pellet stove. Great suction. No ash or dust blowing around when turned on. Large filter bag which does not clog up like paper filters. We have tried many vacuums and this is the best. Easy to assemble and low maintenance. Highly recommend this vacuum!

I had an ash vac where the filter seemed to always clog and, after cleaning, it was difficult to reassemble. I have used my powersmith vac weekly for a winter and a half and each time I think I need to write a review. It is easy to use and extremely easy to clean. The filter system is brilliant and vastly superior to the paper filters on other vacs.

BEST EVER. VERY QUIET, NO DUST, LIGHT TO CARRY AND EASY TO MANEUVER, LONG CORD, EASY TO CLEAN.

I have used my vac about 7-8 times. I was using it when it just shut off. Turned off/on, checked plug, outlet and tried to turn back on. I emptied canister, which was less than 1/2 full. Repeated, still not turning back on,
Any suggestions here?

This product is great!

Vacuums works as advertised, with one caveat. The motor runs EXTREMELY HOT and will shut itself off within 10 minutes. I called customer service and they told me this was normal! I believe they should be letting folks know that unlike every other vacuum I've ever used, this one will only work for 8-10 minutes before the motor gets too hot and shuts itself off.

Like other ratings, I once thought this was a great product, but after 2 years of use (maybe 10 times) the motor just quit. Won't turn back on. Have never had a vacuum that just decided to quit. Won't buy another from this company. Going to look for another company!

OK lasted 3 years or 2 fireplace seasons and the motor has burned out. Bought in Nov 2017. I guess they just don't make motors like they used to. I'm going to try a different brand this time.
